What is this crossmember..??

This crossmember is located right below the firewall. I cant see it being a trans x member? I believe the th400 are located further back near the tailshaft. We are going to run a 350 &th400. Does it have to come out? Thanks guys!

Bellhousing mount for a standard trans. It would be in the way for a TH trans

Thanks for the quick responses guys. This crossmember is on its way out. Should the frame have factory holes farther back for the th crossmember?

yes it does have factory holes for the TH crossmember.

ok, another one for you guys. I have these two crossmembers. The black one has a wider mouth to it and doesnt have holes drilled in the sides like the other. Are they both th crossmembers. They came with the truck,so Im not sure. Thanks again!!

I think the wider one could maybe a C20 and not a C10. But I'm not for sure on that.

I know the black one will, and I think you can leave the other one in if you cut the side ears off the tranny, but it will be easier if you take it out.
