Engine swap Chevy 230 L6 to 327 V8 Clutch linkage ball mount?

Hi All.. I'm wondering if anyone knows if i can simply unscrew the ball stud that's in the extension bracket on the l6 motor for the clutch linkage arm and screw it into the V8 block? Or is there some other way the clutch pivot arm connects to the V8? I don't have the 327 here yet to see if it has hole in the block for the ball stud.. any ideas? It is on a 1965 Chevy c10 pickup. With a three on the tree tranny.

Also it's a 1967 327 block if that matters.

i had a 64 parts truck that i removed all the standard stuff and it had a 350 that the ball screwed in the block not sure if that helps

You can unscrew the ball stud. I installed one on a 87 and newer small block. I measure the threads and drill and tapped the block. There is a spot on the driver side of the block were to make the threads. It was really piece of cake. Also you can buy a new ball stud @ LMCtruck if you need a new one (look under clutch linkage). I will be doing this again on a cammed 355 sb. It will have a saginaw 3speed OD unit behind it.

you will have to buy a new one as the I6 was pressed in an the end riveted over; no threads. the z-bar will work though

i don't know much about that either, but isn't the ball stud on some bellhousings instead of the motor?? I know i have a bell housing off a inline 6 (same bellhousing that will fit the v8) and it has a ball stud in the bell housing.

or am i talking about something totally different??

I have seen some cars which had the ballstud on the BH, but not our year trucks. Maybe you would need it if you mounted the engine farther forward than stock?
