6 to 5 lug adapter question

I cant seem to find an adapter to go from my 6 lug to a 5 lug for my 69 C-10. I see ones for 5 to 6 but none 6 to 5? Any help would be appreciated. or if someone could give me a link on where they found theres. Thanks

I'm far from knowledgable, but from what I understand you'll want to swap your hubs from 6lug to 5. Means rear axls will need to be changed, and in the front your hubs. Would be a good time to upgrade brakes if your gonna do it.

I'm interested in this, only I want to go from an 8 to a 5.

Find you a 71 to 87 chevy parts truck and swap out the front carrier and the rearend! Just did this to a 69 with the help of a 72.
You will have 5 lug disc brake front and 5 lug rear and have more opositon on 5 lug wheels. jmo but we have done this several times with no problems.
Even cut 1 round out of the front springs and made some 2"blocks for the rearend and had the truck setting low and level......

I already have everything i need for the front i have an ece drop kit and i bought everything to do the front disc. For now i just want to cheap out and get a adapters for the rear. Eventually ill be putting a new rear end in it when i do the motor. Id just like to buy the adapters this way i can get 4 5 lug wheels. Im only going to be running steel wheels for now. Plus i need some spacing for the rear as well.

I didn't realize that made adapters to do this. I just searched google and I wouldn't say that they are that cheap... about $140 a pair. I'm not sure of the cost but it may be cheaper to have your axles redrilled to 5 lugs.

Yea they make them. I am just having problems finding from 6 lug to 5 i can find 5 lug to 6 though.

I used to run a set of these on my blazer. Increased the backspacing by 2".

I bought a set of rally rims that came with the 6 lug to 5 lug adapters, put them on and noticed the back wheels were wobbling, fronts ones were fine. I ended up just buying some six lug rallys. Now I have some 5 lug rallys and adapters for sale.

wait they mke 5 ug to 6 lug adapters where do you get them i would love to run with some 6 lug steelies for my 5 lug suspension

There is a lot on ebay. Also if you do a google search a ton come up as well.

Yea i have never run them but im sure its not ideal but it will do for now. I wont be taking this truck on the highway or getting it much above 35 miles an hour for that matter. Just want to be able to go to local cruise night until i get the other rear end in.

I was about to order these then realized they are 5 lug 5" arent chevy 5.5?

they carry the 5.5 just wanna be sure thats the correct one

Classic Trucks had a in depth article on how to correctly remove your 6 lug axles the correct way to have them drilled at a machine shop and what type studs to have them installed. Believe it was two issues back...Much better idea than using spacers.

Chevy is 5 on 5". It's either F**D or MoPar that runs the 5.5" spacing.
