Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
Just finished up attending Ride Fest at the local UTI campus here in Sacramento. An OK show but could be a little better organized as far as judging and some other small things but otherwise it was good.
Had all the guys from 355nation.com join me at my house for BBQ and they just left. The '85 is finally running that way I want, so I'm not touching it for a while...

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
Went to a car show Saturday and a cruise-in Saturday night. Both events were about an hour and a half from home, it's always good to take a long drive in the Heap. I didn't bring home any hardware this time.
I've spent today (Sunday) hanging new kitchen cabinets, 2 ceiling fans, and other chores related to "Our House, the Re-Do". Quick, someone pass me the lighter fluid and a book of matches.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
No work new on my truck, I did take jr to his 1st swap meet this morning. I had planned to weld up my header collectors this afternoon. But my BBQ pit ended up on my welding table instead. The way figure it a man needs tasty Q to build custom trucks.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
Fixed the hose on the radiator in my dd and cranked the torsion bars . Did a roadside brake job on my moms burban. Has anyone ever seen the material on the brake pad just crumble?? Also gave an estimate for a seat to be reupholster and replace a oil sender.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
saturday morning went to work to change the fuel pump in the wifes denali. Not too bad a project considering i just did it 3 MONTHS AGO While I was there I got suckered into working until 2:30, on my day off. After that it was rollerskating and dinner. Today I spent all day outside. cleaned/swept the driveway (45'x45'), which I havent done to this extent for 3 years, moved a big pile of rocks, cleaned the garage, mostly anyway, it was getting pretty bad! Upgraded my daughter to a 16 inch bike from her 12 inch, the grow too fast! And now Im waiting for the steaks on the grill! Damn fine day.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
had to replace both my lower ball joints and the right side upper shaft kit, what fun it was getting those control arms off! Have to get my balljoints pressed in tommorow.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
i primed my bed today to match the rest of my truck, swapped back to a good running quadrajet, and attempted to lower my new truck seat that sits too high, but for today, that was a no-go. wasted 45 minutes taking it all apart to find it wasnt as easy as taking a bracket out and lowering the seat down a bit. good day for me though, hardly ever get to work on my own stuff anymore.

Started installing a Pypes exhaust system. 105 degrees outside, so I'm taking it slow. Perfect day for welding, though.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
Took a Trip to Auburn AL to bring a buddy some furniture and help him move... Truck did great, no problems though the engines tiredness shows with the trailer AND a/c... Its reliable though. It's about 530 Miles all together plus driving around Auburn. I got 15MPG @70MPG average says my lil calculator.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
Saturday was spent running errands and service calls. I got the wife's Denali inspected, oil changed, washed and detailed. Spent the rest of the day running service calls.
Sunday I got up early expecting my yard crew to arrive, but the were a no show. I pulled weeds till noon, then called it off due to the heat. After a cool off in the pool, I finally got to work on my 77. I spent the afternoon fabbing up a set of brackets for the actuator rods on the ride height sensors. For the latest update on my Ride Tech e3 install go here- LINK

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
Pretty busy weekend here... sold the 82 Blazer on Thursday nite and bought the below truck Friday AM and picked it up Friday evening after work. Here's a few pics... will take a few more after I do a couple of things to it. As far as specs... 09', 6K miles, 2" lift and running 20's... I'm LOVING it!

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
Worked Saturday, cleaned up the 700R4's valve body, got it ready to put back in on Sunday, pulled more wood from the chicken coop/raccoon house to sort, started burning the bad stuff, applied sealer to the lower board on 60' of barn wall. As soon as I get the VB back in the diesel we're gonna get barn doors...

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
I scored some upper/lower control arms, ball joints and a driveshaft Friday. I had a huge cookout and party for my daughters 3rd birthday on Saturday. We all had a great time with the family and friends. We had about 65 people there. We rested on Sunday. Man was I tired!!!

Took out the driver side air vent directional thingy, and fixed the louvers. They were just flopping around inside the housing. Now, it actually directs air!

Fired up the 79 for the first time now just to change out the interior and the passenger fender and I'll be ready to start driving it and getting the kinks worked out before I put it up for sale.
