BUDDY BUCKETS: Bought 'em.....how'd I do??

Thanks to all of you who responded to my other post on correctly ID-ing the chevy buddy buckets. From what I can tell and the measurements I took....these are the real deal. They seem to be structurally awesome. The underside is in great shape. ZERO slop in the folding movement. Of course they will need a little foam and re-covering.

Now the bad news.......I had to pay $100 for them! He wouldn't take my $50 offer!!!! LOL!!!!

The 67-68 version of the Buddy Seat like yours,
I understand are much harder to find.

I think I got a deal on the "Fawn" color seats that I found for $400.00.
They're in pretty good shape.
(and may be for sale now that I found my '67 CST)

I've seen freshly ulphostered seats go for $1,000 and more.

Two questions though:

First is are there supposed to be springs running across the bottom to support the foam like on most seats?

#2 what is supposed to hold the center seat upright? Mine either wants to stay down or flips all the way back. I don't see anything missing, bent or broke. Is it supposed to just rest on the gas tank? I see other photos on here where they seem to be upright on there own. What might that be?

Thanks guys.....don't mean to gloat here. Just really happy. I will be flipping these. As crazy as I might be, I don't think these will "look" right in my truck. These need to be re-done and go in a really nice truck.....not my roach. I did by them to turn. Will fund a lot of other parts for my turd.

No springs on bottom of the seats. I don't have a internal gas tank and it doesn't flop to the rear because of the way the hinged bracket is made.

Uh, I think you did OK. I am flat out jealous, I have been looking for a descent deal on some for over 4 years. Congrats on the score! I am pretty sure there is a bracket that bolts to the back of the cab to prevent the middle from laying back too far.

Completely different style of buckets started in 1969. The 1969 and ups are two seats and a center console, each of those three piece is seperate. No frame like that to hold it all.

There is a Black velcro strip on the top of the center seat.
Mine has the same. The factory attached a velcro strap to the
back of the cab to hold it in place.
