"rotten" door panels
Is there any way you can fix a rotting door panel without having to buy a new one? It must have been sitting in the sun too long or someone left the window open in the rain. The panel is giving off some kind of dust that you can scratch off and it looks bad.
Anybody know how to help?

I don't have a solution for you but mine are the same way. Eventually, I'll sand/scrape the stuff off and repaint them. Actually I'm thinking of spraying them with bed liner to get a textured surface then painting. I figure I've got nothing to lose but some time and a couple $$ for paint. If it doesn't work I'll buy replacements anyway.

Long time no post, same issue here. Just won a grey set on FleaBay. Seller said "no rot" . We'll see. Going to dye them saddle. Another option is take them to an upholstery shop and have them covered in vinyl of your color choice. May do that if the dye job goes sour on me.

Re: "rotten" door panels
Once the panels are at that point the plastic is actually broken down due to the UV rays. The only real fix is replacement. The plastic itself has lots its structure and it just falling apart.
