Re: 66 8 lug

Everybody unbolts the later year front crossmembers to switch over to 5 or 6 lug but you can do the same from a 3/4 ton of those years just to obtain the disk brakes. I personally bought and installed 2.5" drop spindles and disk brake swap from Brothers Trucks and everything bolted up fantastically.

Re: 66 8 lug

You can convert over to discs with a front suspension from a '71-'87 pickup and Suburbans and Crewcabs thru '91. You can use the whole braking system as well as the power steering. The factory brake booster will work if you don't mind drilling a couple holes to bolt it up. I sell booster brackets that bolt up to the firewall using existing holes, as well as the power steering box adapter plates. Links are in my sig.......

Re: 66 8 lug

For the dual reservior master cylinder, you'll need one for a '67-'70 truck with power brakes. For the booster, one of my booster brackets will work with the recommended booster (see the link in my sig). As for the proportioning valve, one isn't needed for 2 wheel drum brakes. The '67-'70 trucks used what amounts to basically a distribution block directly below the master cylinder.

Re: 66 8 lug

At this time I don't sell complete kits. There's not much sense in paying shipping for the parts that you can buy locally. The brackets are still $65.00 shipped as listed in the for sale thread. If you don't mind paying the shipping and would rather buy a package setup, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
