Rear Leaf Springs
Ok, I have an 84 1/2 ton 4x4 and am looking at lifting it up 4". I was looking into lift leafs and while taking a look at whats on there now, I noticed that the frame seems to have matching holes about 4" back of each of the bolts on the rear leaf hanger bracket.
Does this mean I could change to 56" springs? From my understanding the 56" springs are offset a little bit front to back so the axle position should stay the same. And if so, which would be the way to go? The truck will mostly be for hauling and towing. Thanks in advance! |

Re: Rear Leaf Springs
My original rear springs cracked with the 4inch blocks...wear and tear over the years.
So i replaced them with Super Lifts 4inch soft ride springs...not rough @ all. Smooth ride, i haven't towed yet with them i need to buy a hitch and receiver (soon). Thats my take on those, they are kick ass! I've loaded the bed 3times with a little over a ton with the posters (10,000 posters). and it barely squats, so this year ill install air bags. The stock ones were so worn out the truck as really low on tough loads

Re: Rear Leaf Springs
Thanks for the link nbpro, but I had looked all over that and hadn't seen an answer before I posted, but I may have overlooked... which is completely possible lol. I relooked it over but still can't find my answer... have anything more direct if its there and I'm just blind?
And 355bullet: Yea, didn't want to go with blocks myself, but I will look into those Superlift springs, just wanna know what length is better overall! |
