bed strips need opinions
I just finished staining the wood well other than the clear. now I am trying to decide what will look the best for the color of the strips. I am including a pic of the truck so you know what we are working with. I have ruled out the orange-red color. the choices are flat black, red oxide primer, gray primer, or aluminum metallic.

Re: bed strips need opinions
thanks for the opinions I ended up sanding off all the stain and going back with bare pine wood and sealed it with a semi gloss. as far as the strips I went with flat black. I will post pics later. it turned out good.

Re: bed strips need opinions
I don't mean to be critical, helpful maybe. It looks like you brushed the stain on did you rub it out afterwords? A good sanding prior to stain will reduce the dark blotchy appearance. I'd match the bed strip color with the inside bed. Your truck is cool. I'm liking the wheels too.

Re: bed strips need opinions
not running yet my deadline will be crusing the coast. sillyoldman I did brush it on and the reason I did it so thick is because it was so hot that it was drying before I could wipe it off. anyway It is finished now and no going back now.
