Cummin Swap Info
I am looking for some more info on the Cummin Swaps. I been lookin on the board and reading the ones that been done but I am looking for more info on different cummins. I been looking at 4bt and 6bt since I have 5 of them in my area I can snag for cheap but also been reading about the 12v. My main focus/problem is if it will fit in my truck as most trucks I see them in are 4x4 and mine is a 2wd bagged and body dropped crew cab. I Z'd the front and stock floored it 2.75 inches to lay rocker so I want to make sure I can do it. Any info is appreciated thanks.

I am going to say if yours is Z'd and bodydropped you can forget about it. Plus it weighs like 1200 lbs. Do you need it to tow or anything?

I'm with him, good luck with at 12 valve with bein that low, is it possible? yes, but you would have to run probley a 4 inch cowl, cut out your firewall and floor and redo all of that to raise up the engine enough. By the was, all 89-98.5 cummins in the dodges are 12 valves, both the rotary pump and inline pump engines, and all 12 valves are 6bt's, and when they went to electronic injection they went to 24 valves, or ISB's.

and as far as the 4BTs you are not going to be any better off there either as they are the same height as the 6BTs.

Okay. I was planning on using the truck to tow our shop projects around when its finished. Guess I will be looking into an EFI motor or dropping in a 355. Thanks for the help guys.

No, I unfortunately do not have a camera anymore. It took a swim on a mud ride and I just never got around to getting a new camera.
