86 chevy 4x4 shortwide
I bought this truck a few weeks ago, acutally traded a 94 dodge ram. I posted a build thread in the 4x4 section and it just doesnt get nearly as much traffic over there, and after i am looking for opinions and suggestions i want a little foot traffic.
The truck is a 86 shortwide 4x4. It has no rust whats so ever that i can find. It appears it used to be a show truck. It has pin stripping aot of places. Polished aluminum gas tanks covers and such. It has a 454 bbc with a th400 behind it. future plans are a 14 bolt full floating axle in the rear and a dana 60 up front. Along with 4:10s and lockers. It already has a 3 inch body lift, so i am either gonna install a 4 inch suspension, or remove the 3 inch body and install a 6 inch suspension. Truck currently has 35x13.50x 15 mickey thompsons baja claws. Heres some pics of when i first went and got it. |

Re: 86 chevy 4x4 shortwide
The last few weeks i have been looking for a replacment pass bedside after this one was pretty much beyond repair.
After having no luck, i decided to camo it. I also pulled the carpet out, and to my surprise there was no rust at all on the floors. So i herculined the floors. |

If that truck aint got a body lift on it that gas tank needs some supports it's hanging way too low.
I like that big block though looks good and a pretty solid ruck too. I think I'd replace the upper radiator hose first thing having zip tie and clamps all over it.
