Silver paint for dash bezels??

Is there any kind of paint that resembles the old dash bezel edges and rings around gauge holes. It is more of a chrome look than paint. Has anyone tried anything that looks like original.

Re: Silver paint for dash bezels??

I was talking to someone at a place locally that sells "replated" plastic parts. He said they used to plate the whole item, grease the areas that should be shiny, paint, then remove the grease.

He said its actually vaporized aluminum and his painter got sick so they don't paint anymore...

SEM silver looks real close. Others are too shiny. Trevor

Re: Silver paint for dash bezels??

My bad, I didn't fully read your message. the 67-68 bezel edges resemble the SEM silver paint. The 69-72 had vacuumed plated chrome on the edges. No paint will match that I am afraid unless you spend some big bucks on the airbrush chrome (Mirra-Chrome). Spaz stix and alclad are close to chrome, but the durability of the paint lacks for pieces like this. Trevor
