Place to buy some tweed fabric?

Could anyone tell me the best place to buy a roll or 2 of tweed fabric? Would like to do leather but I think that would be very pricey.
Thanks!

Fabric stores sell it. I would consider vinyl or cloth over tweed. It's going to date your truck.

Re: Place to buy some tweed fabric?

The best place I've found for price, quality, and service is Your Auto Trim. Their web address is ......................

www.yourautotrim.com

I recently covered my door panels in tweed, did away with Ostrich Emu.

BTW, I also agree with N2Trux on his opinion of tweed. I built my truck to have a retro feel and the tweed goes along with my interior. Otherwise I'd just save up a little longer and go leather. I love cattle, on a plate or on a seat.

Yes I would agree! Hoping to do it myself, but didn't want to try leather because of the cost. We only have one trim shop in a city of 35k people,so you can imagine what he charges.

I will check there. I have a friend who has tweed in his '67 and looks pretty good. But I can say I never ridden in it to form an opinion about it.

I will politely disagree. An all tweed interior job will date the interior just like all ultra-leather, or all suede, or all.....

Using different fabrics to add some contrast works even if it's not the latest 'trend' fabric. The key is using it sparingly (only for some contrast).

Re: Place to buy some tweed fabric?

I basically was going to use the tweed for all the plastic panels around the glass, headliner trim, and kick panels.

That much tweed will definitely date your truck & is most likely what N2Trux was referring to. Too much of any one 'soft' fabric wrapped over plastic trim takes away from the effort. Why not properly prep them & use a plastic/vinyl dye on the hard pieces?

Re: Place to buy some tweed fabric?

Haha I love all the hatin on tweed, my whole interior is tweed, well tweed and billit I like it but then again it was done professionally and probably cost more than I paid for the truck since I'm sticking with 16" wheels and not going crazy on the drop or paint I don't think it will look out of place haha

I'm not hatin on it. Just stating that a full tweed interior is going to look like it was done 10-15 years ago when full tweed interiors were the rage.

Do what you want, but the facts are the facts.

Re: Place to buy some tweed fabric?

I will try and dye a piece and see what it looks like. Is there a decent place to purchase some? I looked around my town for it a few weeks back, and there is none to be found here. My door panels a faded pretty bad but no nicks and cracks,so would hate to get rid of them. That was the main reason I was going to cover some of the panels.

Re: Place to buy some tweed fabric?

If your door panels are in good shape you can dye them. Read this article for more details- LINK
