Re: Factory or not shifters?

My stock 70 SWB 4X4 has the transfer case shifter like picture #2. The transmission shift handle does not look like the one in the picture. Both shifters were painted black from the factory on my truck and the trim rings for the boots were also black.

Re: Factory or not shifters?

Hey Eric, the top pic is a 70' setup, and the bottom is a 71-72'. The bottom I can tell right away because the transfer case shifter is offset to the passenger side of the hump, and the 70' at the top is placed directly centered to the transmission shifter. The bottom pic has a newer style 73+ manual trans shifter. There are also 2 types of np205 shifters for 70'.

Then what year did that chrome shifter i got form you come out off? It's has a different bend then that one.I know it hits the seat when it is in rev.I like to do a custom shifter for my truck i got some ideas, but i guess i would have to cut a shifter up for the bottom that fits in to the tranny.

Re: Factory or not shifters?

Oops Eric, I didn't look at the pic long enough. I believe that shifter is from a 2wd sm465. You are right, it has a different bend to it then the 73+ style shifter. The one I sold ya, came from a mid 80's 4wd with the sm465. Our 87' K30 has the same shifter as yours. The 2wd sm465 shifters from our years were bents up like that. Trevor
