left blinker = hazards

Ever since i owned my 71 c10 if i put on the left blinker on and the hazards come on. besides that i have no electrical problems. so i put in a new steering wheel and decided to put in a new signal switch. the old one looked in good shape. even with the new one the left blinker activates the hazards. any suggestions.

Re: left blinker = hazards

just a thought that is realtively simple and won't cost you anything, and i've actually found this 2 times before. check to see if a single contact 1156 bulb has been installed in the left park or tailight socket. if this is the case whenever the left turn signal is activated it'll complete the park light circuit and cause all the parks and tails to flash. the other possibility is to check for the left turn signal and left park or tail wires may have been tied or shorted together. just a couple of possiblities that'll cause what you describe.
