Question Restorin a 69, how would a 89 long bed look, i know its been asked alot but any ideas

Ok i have a 69 witha long bed that has a wrinkled floor, yet its still very strong. and it has a spot that needs welding below the passenger side brake light...
but on the other hand i have an 89 long bed sittin here goin to waist....

now i have seen pictures of step sides, pictures of a 99-03 long bed on these trucks, but no one has mentioned the 88-98 long beds,

any one seen how the body lines look? or if i should just work with what i have...

i want somethin different but dont want somethin bad lookin..
i might be able to get the fenders rolled to match the front, gotta try to pull some strings,

although i am a member of a the camaro board like this, i am new to this one,
buildin this truck with my dad, so any help would be greatly apreciated..
only taken me 7 years to get to it... dont wanna stop now

thanks Jason

Welcome to the board from Ohio.
I don't think that bed would line up very good at all. Too many things wouldn't look right.
But some will argue with me and show pics of a daulie with the later bed.

Welcome from another Marylander I agree with others a newer longbed wouldn't look right.I know where a whole 71 longbed is with decent bed on it he wants $500 for the whole truck.Let me know if you may be interested and I will get the number for you

the only thing that really looks good is if you are using a stepside ox then it doesnt look as bad but justa conventional box looks terible

yeah, i agree. It looks terrible, the upper cab/bed transition looks totaly wrong. I think your best bet would be to find a rust free, texas/california, 68-72 bed.

Wow...figured that daulie would make it onto this thread...saw it elsewhere on the board today. Here you go, look at the lower front of the bed..not even close to matching up.
