Inner fender walls black or ...?

So guys I am in the process of restoring my 72 and hope to pull the motor on my days off next week. While it is out I am definitely painting the fire wall red like the truck. Originally I planned on leaving the inner fenders black, but after looking at some really nice ones painted I am having a hard time deciding now. I think either way looks great so post a few pics if you can and let me get some opinions.

body color looks funny to me on the inner fenderwells... makes me think of the 90's when they'd paint everything body color, frame, grill, bumpers, engine... semigloss black looks best IMO.

Re: Inner fender walls black or ...?

I use semi-gloss black Rustoleum painted on fairly thick. this way I can easily touch it up from stone chips. On any bare metal, I use Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer first.

Thanks guys. I am kinda leaning toward black, but have seen some pretty painted ones.

I like contrast in the engine compartment, so I like semi gloss black and I definitely like the radiator support to be black also

I think you're probably right... My preference is semi-gloss black which is what I did in both my trucks but they look good either way.

Re: Inner fender walls black or ...?

I went through the same dilemma on my truck and did a compromise - the inner fenders went satin black and the engine side of the hood is going to be body color.
