what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
thinking about some new wheels. Just seams like something is not right. Not sure if it's the size of tires on the front, back or both or if it's the rims.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
Looks like you got rid of the cowl hood....I think that's the best improvement you could have made. It would look sweeeet with some rallies on there too. Other than that, just drive it. It looks near perfect.

OOPS, gotta agree with the previous posts, I'm not too fond of cowl induction hoods on trucks either. But I'm old....

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
2 things jump out at me.
1) White letter out back, black wall up front. Doesn't look right. 2) I've never been a fan of "big n littles." I like the same size tires all the way around. Edit: After looking a little more, are the rim diameters different??? If so, I'd bump up the fronts to match the rear. That's just my opinion, some people like their rims/tires like that, I don't. Other than that, I think the rims look great, just get some better matching front tires. Also... LOVE the trailer!!!

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
I'm going to replace the rear tires with some mickey thompson 315/45/r16 which are 27.8" tall, and the fronts right now are 26" tall. Do you think a taller front tire would help?

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
Beautiful truck i love to color and the trim, the cowel hood doesnt bother me. The tires and rims is what i think makes it look funny, get a set of rally rims with all four rims the same size with white lettering tires or something like that but thats just my opinion.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
Swap out the rims from the trailer, those things blow the doors off the truck's rims, IMO. Yeah get some outside white lettered tires all around and you'll be in business.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
I think it would look better with the cab roof painted white

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
Well, I like the cowl hood and I agree that something doesn't quite flow right. The rims on the trailer would look awesome on the truck.
On another note, I can't tell if you've lowered it but if it were my truck I'd go with 2.5" x 4" or even a 4" x 6". I'm also a fan of ~27" o.d. tires on an 18" rim. Here's a pic of my real dirty 71 long box with a 2.5" x 4" on 18" centerlines. Yeah, I know she needs a bath real bad. Since getting my Jimmy the truck has been kind sidelined. |

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
love the cowl hood but it looks great both ways.
the funkyness IMHO comes from having white letters out back and not up front... other than that i think it looks great and works nicely.. |

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
lose the cowl induction hood & paint the roof white like suggested above ... I'm also NOT a fan of the street-legal drag racer look. It should be one or the other.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
I'll get on the wheel bandwagon.I like the Rallies but a nice set of Cragars or something from the late sixties/early 70's would fit the overall stockish look of your build better.Just my opinion and preference.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
i think the biggest question we all missed is what your budget is. if you're on a tight budget like me, I'd say some nice rallys. if you're not on too tight of a budget something like coys or TTII's would look cool too. but that's my opinion.

yep,I agree. You need some white letter tires up front and get rid of the cowl hood.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
If the truck is going to be raced, as it looks like it is, the rims are throwing everything off. You need something that says this is bad a--. Draglites or prostars, possibly convo pros. If you are going to run the slicks, to help blend in the tires should be all black or all white letter, the mix is also a distraction. I do not like the cowl hood personally as there is enough room without it for just about anything except a 6-71 or tunnel ram with 2 inch spacers under the carbs (did the tunnel ram thing once). If you are running single carb, no need for the cowl imo. Very nice truck, but one question is it show or go? I think that is where the visual confusion for you comes from and why it does not look "right".

I think the ultra type 50s on the trailer would look pretty good.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?
First -I love the truck. I think its a situation where you look at so many pics of trucks with all these 20" plus rims on everyones truck and when you look at your own truck it looks unporportional. The truck body looks so much bigger with smaller rims. Of course with the motor your running 20" plus tires would be useless in your truck if your always hitting the loud petal... Maybe you could get a nice set of 22" street tires and keep your tire/rim combo you have now for the track...
