Excited for a crew cab build:)

Its planned that i'll get an 87 k30 crew cab dually. With a 6.2/th400/np205/dana 60. Said to have no rust and only one dent on the bed (doesnt matter you'll see why)

Plans will be to get SRW hubs on the dana 60 and a 14bolt in the rear and lift it 6-8 inches with 37x13.5-17 inch nitto mud terrains (very reasonably priced) with some black/machined Helo 835 wheels... Also 4 inch straight pipe. and trans temp, pyrometer, and tachometer(if i can find a diesel 2 1/16 inch one for a affordable price) gauges in a gauge pod I will put the rubber/vinyl floor liner and sound proofing on the floor. and then a cowl induction hood. Depending how i like the long box and have it set up I may work on short bedding it before painting it. But that is far from decided. I also may turbo is with a 6.5 set up or something else. I dont know much about turbos yet but i have mechanics to turn to and You guys with experience. Or I would start saving for a cummins 12 valve/nv4500 combo...

change the th400 to a manual sm465 or nv4500 and you get decent outpu from the 6.2
they are slow with auto trannys

Tonight mine pulled a few cars out of snowbanks, and is sitting in my driveway, icicles on the grille, wheels just white cakes of snow, buried up to the lug nuts in powder, straps and chains wrapped around the bumpers, the outline of the wipers clear in 4 inches of snow on the windshield... A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

If i go that route eventually it would be the nv4500. I dont like the gear spread on the 3 speed unless you have big block torque. With big tires the gears are spread pretty wide
