Truck woes

so was driving on the freeway to work and the tranny started slipping really bad until basically it wouldnt move. btw 73 c10 454 th400. Take it to the shop and metal fragments all over oil pan. 700 bucks to completely rebuild. Add a 2400 stall converter and a b&m shift kit and it 850 out the door 1 year warranty. sucks i have to spend the money but oh i cant wait to actually run my 454 through the gears with the converter and shift kit. And i thought it was fast before, watch out!

Re: Truck woes

Had the same problem with my TH400 - Pan was full of needle bearings. Pretty much went the exact same route you did with the rebuild. I've never been happier!

Re: Truck woes

Its a good solid tranny and will last a lot more years on the rebuild.

Re: Truck woes

Look at it as your trucks way of telling you it was time for the stall and shift kit.
