floor getting wet in 99 suburban
My father in law recently bought a 99 suburban and the passenger floor is getting wet. I changed the heater core and it didnt stop it. When the truck sits with the a/c on it doesnt leave alot of condensation. We have not got much rain here lately so I know it cant be leaking from the rain. Is it possible for the condensation from the a/c to be leaking into the floor? I cant find any evidence of this. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes the drain hole could be blocked.

Check to see if the drain for the evaporator is clear. Its right below the heater hoses on the firewall. On a humid day like today it should drip alot of water with the A/C on.

Re: floor getting wet in 99 suburban
It does drip some but not like it should. The rubber elbow was missing from the drain so I rigged a short piece of hose to replace it. I will call him and get him to check it to see if it is clogged up.

Re: floor getting wet in 99 suburban
Another possibility is that the cowl drain is blocked on the pass side. This is supposed to dump water out the firewall and into the void between the fender and the wheel skirt. If it blocks up enough then you can get a little lake going up in your cowl and this will spill into the HVAC blower intake and the leak off the bottom of the blower and onto the pass floor.

You probably fixed it with the hose. Without a drain elbow the condensation will drain right back into the cab on these trucks.
