Chrome or Black?
I've decided the color I'm going with on my K10 is Tangerine Pearl. Now I've got another choice that I can't decide on. I saw the black billet grills in LMC and it got me thinking if I should go with black accents or chrome? I'm thinking black wheels, black mirrors and a black grille would look killer. Then again chrome would look awesome as well. What do you guys think? It will be on 20x12 wheels and 35" tires.
Edit- Added a poll of the choices I'm now thinking of. Please vote!

Re: Chrome or Black?
The chrome will definitely pop against that color but black is a nice contrast as well and tougher looking for a K10....hmmmm....don't think you can make a wrong choice....one's just different from the other.....

Re: Chrome or Black?
See I was thinking the same thing, both will look good I just cant decide. I would also do the bumpers in either black or chrome. I'm kind of leaning towards the black just because I really want something that will stand out from the crowd. Then again the chrome will really pop.... Decisions, decisions. lol.
Edit- It would also be more of a Matte Black rather than gloss. Here's the wheels-

Re: Chrome or Black?
I didn't even think about that! That sounds supurb my friend! Now I have 3 choices, black chrome sounds like a good choice.
Edit- Maybe even doing a brushed finish on the bumpers, grille and rims..... Hmmm

Re: Chrome or Black?
I'd do chrome in fear of it looking like a halloween/pumpkin theme with too much black.

Re: Chrome or Black?
I voted for black chrome, but I'd do gray if it were mine. Black and orange is kinda halloweeny to me.

Re: Chrome or Black?
I don't get the current fad of "black" instead of chrome. Looks ghetto to me.
Maybe it's because I am an old fart. Chrome wheels are the first thing we did, back in the day. To me black looks like the guy is saving up and will buy the "good" wheels, but for now all he could do is paint some old wheels black. Don't go postal on me, but that's my 2 cents! |

Re: Chrome or Black?
Fitz that is sick!! Do you know how they did that?? I was told by a buddy that another cool "finish" is to get the metal a glowing got red then quench it in oil. Havent tried it yet and prolly wouldnt work for wheels but has anyone done this? Interested in seeing what it'd look like

Re: Chrome or Black?
Thanks guys.
Fitz- I got thinking about that and I'm really leaning towards the black chrome right now. Only thing that sucks is I can't get the wheel in black chrome from the manufacturer, so I'll have to send it out to be done. What was the damage to have those two wheels done? lakeroadster- I like both myself, depends on the vehicle and the entire look for me. Thanks for the input. NastyC10- Thanks! I really like the Weld Cheyenne series but since they stopped making them I've been looking for a similar wheel; These were all I found and they look pretty good to.

Re: Chrome or Black?
With a little thinking, what do you guys think about black wheels and black inner grill with chrome bumpers and mirrors?

Re: Chrome or Black?
Here is a pumpkin truck for you. Different, but i like it. I actually think black is easier to keep clean, rather than chrome. Way easier than polished aluminum. My engine will be mostly black with black anodized pulley's.
