Re: Rough Trucks
That aint nothing, I wished I had pics, our old 76 was way worse then that. Hardly no floor boards at all, only sides of the front floor support left the top and bottom were gone, rockers outside were completely gone, nothing left, a huge hole in the bottom rear of each fender the width of that section and at least 6-8 inches tall or up the fender, all the way around the wheel arch with basebal sized, larger and smaller holes, quarter sized or better along the front of the hood, it was wrinkled in the middle and split on both sides, I don't know on the doors they had been changed, I think the originals dad said the whole bottom was gone and had so much filler in them they weighed about twice as much as stock gm doors, the bedsides had huge holes, they were rusted out to the straight body line from the wheel arch to that line, nothing but a hole there from front to rear of the arch, the lower rears would completely swiss cheese with baseball sized holes and bigger/smaller, it even had holes that size in the rear corner forward of the taillights. Bed floor had holes the whole length of the corsssills, like you could see the sills from inside the bed, the sills were gone underneath. It had tin covering up everything and got so bad the tin came loose, fell off or just showed through the layers of bondo. The firewall had a fist sized hole over the gas pedal and along the ps under the heater box went from the PS door as far over as possible all the way to the trans hump and about 3 inches tall hole, and I do have pics of them have to dig em out. rust in the door openings of the cab roof, frame was solid, doors were since they were switched, surprisingly the cab corners were in and out and the long floor support that runs front to rear was great. Tailgate and front bed panel were too but both bent. The inner fenders were pretty well gone up front the middle welded plate was gone and huge hole there probably 12x8 or so, the lower front and rears almost gone, the core support was bad all the way across the bottom as well. Front bumper was straight and painted, rear was a bent sport bumper. My dad always said if we ever got in a wreck in it, he wasn't gonna call a tow truck just get a broom and bucket.

Re: Rough Trucks
When you get to be an old fart like some of us on this board, you've gotta start with 'em a bit straighter than that.
I guess there are some pluses to living in the desert... |

Re: Rough Trucks
Surface rust - that's all. See it in trucks for sale ads all the time.

Re: Rough Trucks
Nothing in these pictures a case of duct tape in assorted colors accompanied with a case of cold beer can't fix.
Cured this van from its rust! Mark
