Throttle linkage and tv cable bracket
Ok.....84, was small block, now has 454, eldbroock carb, 700r4. What are you guys running for throttle brackets? No one round here seems to know. The truck I pulled the big block out of was propane so those brackets won't work.
Thanks Owen |

Re: Throttle linkage and tv cable bracket
I use a throttle bracket off of early to mid 80's Oldsmobile 88's that have a 307 Olds engine. The throttle bracket bolts on using the two rear carb bolts so the will work on any sb/bb after market intakes. They fit perfect. They are for a Qjet pattern but I have easily modified them to work on a holley bolt pattern also. I'll try to find a picture of one so you know what to look for. I have used them with Edelbrock carbs too.

Re: Throttle linkage and tv cable bracket
Thanks guys. I'll look for the olds one first.
I've seen the eldbrook one in the catalog but no one round here could tell me for sure if it would work. Cheap build....junkyard bracket tho lol |

Re: Throttle linkage and tv cable bracket
The Olds bracket looks like the stock truck bracket too. I had to cut mine in half to fit the Edelbrock carb and my Holley pattern intake. I just welded in a small piece in the middle to spread the bolt pattern out to match the Holley pattern intake.
The bracket should be pretty easy to find used. Just find one that has the same kind of trans you are running as the position of the kick down cable on a T350 vs a TV cable on a 700R4 may be different. They could be the same but I wouldn't want to risk messing up your trans by using the wrong one.
