2nd place better than nothing.
Took 2nd place yesterday at the Weaver City Street Rodders 23rd Annual Car Show in Weaverville Ca, in the category "modified trucks 1960 to present". Not bad, two wins out of five car shows. Four more shows to go for this year that I know of. I entered modified because my truck is lowered. Next time I will enter it as stock. The other three 67-72 chevy trucks were heavily modified with lots of body and interior changes. All looked good but a far cry from mine as being original color and interior.

Re: 2nd place better than nothing.
Nice, I love the stance. What is the drop, and tire/wheel combo you got?

Re: 2nd place better than nothing.
Thanks ledzepp,
The drop was done by the PO. But what I have been able to gleam it is most likely a 3" in front and 5" in back. It was most likely achieved with after market front coils and heated stock rear coils until he got the stance he wanted. My tires on front are 235 60 R15 and rear 255 60 R15. I used my garmin GPS and my speedometer is less than 1 mph off. My rims are old school cragar ss. |

Re: 2nd place better than nothing.
Jacfourteen,
The Oroville Car Show was my first car show. I bought my truck the Tuesday before the show. Since then I have replaced all moldings, Outer Inner Grill, Headliner trim, both sport mirrors, AC head, interior carpet, hounds-tooth seat cover which were all "NOS". I have also put in matching carpet kick panels and lower door panels, Dash bezel with wood grain trim, complete interior knobs, bed carpet with hinged bed cover, different tires and rims. Did I forget to mention eldelbrock manifold and carb. Removed and repainted inner fenders, all new AC switches and ducting and AC charged. (Working great) To answer your question is yes my truck was there but it's gone through quite a transformation since then and I know I've missed a few of things. |

Re: 2nd place better than nothing.
I saw the truck in oroville and I was gonna talk to you but you were talking with someone else. It was pretty sweet then so I can only imagine it now!

Re: 2nd place better than nothing.
Thanks Ledzepp, I ran 15 X 8 painted to match rallies for the first four car shows. People commented that it looked good but it lacked something, so I found a good deal on the cragars and now the truck attracts alot more people and I get alot of thumbs up from strangers just driving around town.

Nice to see other local guys here in my backyard. Post pics of your trucks so I can recognize them. I have quite a bit of "NOS" parts for sale.

Re: 2nd place better than nothing.
Love the avatar. We've gone to Gene's Drive in a couple of times on Thursday nights. Their is normally a black 70 stepside and a red 71 swb there. Nice guys and the owner of the black stepside will talk your ear off about his truck.
