Re: rally wheels
How are you attaching those later model caps to your wheels? I bought a set on ebay, but haven't had the time to do anything with them yet.

Another option, which is what I am going to do on the '68, I got the external threaded lug nuts with the 1/2" stud threads and then I can use the factory GM "lug caps" that hold the caps on externally, just like my '98 Silverado. Hope that helps.

Re: rally wheels
Like Chevy_Mike said, I went through the back with sheet metal screws. The lug nut holes are big enough that you can use a lug wrench or socket too.
I also have a set of '02 (I believe) 6-lug caps that would have to use the external thread nuts. Haven't played around with them yet. |

Re: rally wheels
Yeah I had heard about using the screws from the backside but I wsn't sure how well they would stay on the wheel. I had aslo considered getting the OEM style lugnuts for the US thread studs and using the plastic retaining nuts, but I'm not sure if I would like the looks of those nuts on there. I guess I'll play around and see what I like best. Thanks for the replies.

Re: rally wheels
Well it was almost a year ago that I bought a couple sets. The '88-'98 set I bought from just an individual that doesn't have a ebay store. I believe I paid around $12.00 plus shipping for those. They were just driver quality. The other set I bought were the newer '99+ style and were nice takeoffs. I bought those from a seller named Mikebo. He has a store with lots of OEM parts. I don't remember just what I paid for those....I want to say around $50.00.
If you do a search for 'Silverado center cap' you should be able to find what you're looking for.
