Frames

I just purchased a 72 4x4 truck, 350 auto for the sheetmetal. A friend told me the frame is the same as the 2wd. Minus of coarse the 4x4 bracketts and leaf springs. Any truth i could use this frame for my 72 2wd? My 2wd frame is NG and i can't find anything up here.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Frames

That looks to me to be a shortbed 4x4 frame, very hard to find around here and the 2wd frames are everywhere. Simple answer is yes, you can convert it. But it's a hell of a lot of work, the frames are completely different. I would think you wouldn't have any trouble finding someone who would swap you frames, I have one here.. but hey i'm in Oklahoma. Good luck!

X2............ 4x4 frames are different. The main rails are different, so it is more than just the brackets for the springs. Sale the 4x4 frame and you can buy 3 2wd frames.

Re: Frames

Ok, thank you. That's what I'll do. I didn't think there was much call up here for 4x4 frames, but we'll give it a shot.
