Why? Style... and maybe to keep the cab just a bit cooler inside during summer?

Re: Blue with a white top....

Not sure if you are asking about stock or custom.

If you ordered a factory two-tone, that's what you got. Truck two-tones weren't like the ones on cars back then. GM just gave you a standard body color with a white top.

Re: Blue with a white top....

There were two optional two tones above the standard one color option. You could get the standard two tone- base color with white top or the deluxe two tone which gave you white top, body color, white middle, body color lower- the deluxe two tone was designated with a 400 series paint code.

Re: Blue with a white top....

But, I've seen some trucks that were two-tone and didn't have white as the secondary color. One that comes to mind was a yellow primary color and a green secondary (roof top) color. Back when these were new, you could special-order a new truck in a color that wasn't in the order book. As an aside, you could have just about any interior color you wanted with any exterior color. There were recommended combos, but if you wanted to order it, they'd build it.

Another Blue and White...I used the white just to break up the blue a little.

Re: Blue with a white top....

Thanks for the reminder........ I LIKE THAT COLOR COMBO.... I towed this one home and have it so covered up in stuff in my shop that I don't even focus on it. Had BIG plans for it but lazy-ness won. Not a bad truck either.

Is this the Light Blue paint code 507? I really like this color and have been trying to verify the color.

Re: Blue with a white top....

chuckmc8, maybe/maybe not a white top, but hard to improve on your truck. Leave the front alone........... just one old geezer's opinion.
