Newbie..'64 SWB step-side
Thought I'd post some pics of my project. Picked up this '64 a few months ago. Since then it's been a DD.

I plan on keeping it mostly stock. Lower the stance a little. No big plans right now but that may change.
BTW..I'm a firefighter also. Stay safe out there.

Welcome to the forum
Looks like a decent truck. What's the specs on the drivetrain? Looks like you'll be needing a heater soon.

Re: Newbie..'64 SWB step-side
The PO removed the 6 cyl and swapped in a 327 4bbl with automatic trans. The heater is going to be the major issue right now. With Ohio weather it won't be a DD for long without heat. Anyone have any ideas where I can pick up a heater? Also thought about installing a Vintage Air system.

Re: Newbie..'64 SWB step-side
I might have enough parts to put together a deluxe heater....I would have to check to be sure though. Do you have the levers on the dash and the cables?

Re: Newbie..'64 SWB step-side
It currently has only the single knob but I do have a set of controls that I was able to rob from a C60. The cables aren't in the best shape and will have to be replaced.

Re: Newbie..'64 SWB step-side
That's good. I have everything but the controls and a heater core. You'll be better off with a new core anyways. I'll have to check the one fan I have to see if it works. Let me know if you're interested.

Definately interested. I need to do something soon or I'll have to park it this winter.

Re: Newbie..'64 SWB step-side
I got busy today and forgot to check that fan. I wrote myself a note tonight, so I'll let you know tomorrow.
