Doing a full frame
So I'm thinking I'm going to do a full frame for my c10. Currently its on bags and I did the four link. Is there any suggestions on doing a full frame. I've read Chassis Engineering and am planning on following the ideas there, as well as the 4 link calculator. Any other suggestions on doing the frame and the math involved? I'm having trouble with where to start? Obviously I'm not planing on buying material for the next 6 months or so, I want to do plenty of research first.

Re: Doing a full frame
Do you have room to set up a frame table. That would be my starting point. It will make thing much easier to work on and keep your frame square as you go.

Re: Doing a full frame
Only advice I can give you is measure, measure, measure. You can build it on the garage floor if it is level, but a frame table will make it much easier (as well as you arent doing all your work bent over in the floor) Good luck with your project, and be sure to post up some pics! I love this type of fabrication work, its what got me into building airbagged trucks!

Re: Doing a full frame
Ya i would build a frame table if you can, or even a wood one would work. I'll i can say is take as many measurements off your old frame as possible and make a drawing of what you want the new frame to look like so you have something to look at, thats where i would start, then get the steel and cut and weld your frame to life!!

Re: Doing a full frame
Thanks guys for mentioning a frame table. I am planning on building one out of wood, something simple but much more level than the floor. Any suggestions for doing the rollcenter and all of the calculations beforehand? I'm assuming start with wheelbase, and what types of link setup and all of that, but should I just start there and let the work begin or is there a more mythodical approach?
