running/parking lights

does my ignition switch have anything to do with my parking lights? they worked before i switched out my steering column... i had to use my old igniton switch....now they dont work...brake lights work and headlights but thats it....is this a common problem?

I had a similar problem in my '79 after I swapped out the column. One of the wires backed out of the connector just enough to where they were not making contact. Try pushing the wires up into the connector, just to make sure.
