is a holley 4165 6120 a bad choice

i picked up a used holley 4165 6120 for $50 to replace the original 4 barrel on my 69 blazer. motor is a 355 with a weiand intake. is this a bad choice in carb? my buddy seems convinced it is strictly high performance and will never be streetable even though all the material i've read says its a bolt on replacement.

also if anybody has any literature on tear down/tune i would appreciate it.

Thanks,
David

Re: is a holley 4165 6120 a bad choice

I have one on my 350 I had to jet it down to 58's and it still puffs black when I stomp it. Its the worst of the holley line. Minimal ajustability none of the good feature of a holley. Your much better off with a q jet. If I could get a decent price on a q jet I'd go back.
