Motor mounts.........buy new or re-use from donor

Since we finally got the motor pulled out, now is the time to worry aout the motor mounts. Last night I pulled off the Olds mounts and now I need to get some chevy mounts. Would it be better to pull some old ones off of a donor or buy some new ones? Classic Parts sells the pair for $ 19.95, LMC has them for about $17 a piece

Thanks,

Mike

For 30 bucks spent now, do you think it's worth the hassle to change them if they fail later? I say buy new...

Re: Motor mounts.........buy new or re-use from donor

I just picked up a set for $ 18 and some change @ the local Advance Auto Parts. Are there more rubber mounts that fit inside the engine bracket that connexts to the block? Kind of funny about metal on metal but, what do I know. I also ordered a Energy Suspension transmission mount while I was there. Good I had a winner off the lottery scratcher that mom gave me. $ 26 was not bad for the tranny mount I thought..................
