I just finished my head and manifold porting on the Cheyenne. When I finished, I found an interesting post on another site that explains a much simpler way to do it. Maybe some of you have seen this already but I think It's worth posting.

Default Well guys, I almost got my car back from the shop....

Things aren't right. I went down there to help during part of the day and things went good. They said the head was ok, but the block was no good. They had the 1.8 from a bad timing belt job they rebuilt for me and stuck in the car. Everything seemed to go fine. They blew out sand from the exhaust, turbo, intercooler and everywhere. It took them awhile I guess.
The problem is now when they start the car, it's making a different knocking/clunking noise and a scraping noise at the same time. It seems to change with engine RPMs. We looked over everything and couldn't find a problem. When we looked back in the parts bin we used from the car I found this. No one seems to have any clue what it is or where it is from. Can anyone help here? Should I stop driving again?

Uhmm. That is a rod bearing. I wouldn't drive without one.

Some people are that dumb. A friend of mine was "helping" my brother in law flush his tranny in his brand new less than two month old corolla and my brother wanted to make sure it flushed the lines to(putting ams oil in it)and my buddy told him to just put the front tires on jack stands and start up the car, put it in gear to remove the rest of the fluid out of the lines when he already drained the tranny fluid out, so he wanted him to run the tranny without fluid in it!!!!

But of course my brother in law knew better than that and found a different way to make it work. Just because it doesnt seem like someone could be that stupid doesnt mean they arent lol.
