Emergency: Steering box help
Hey guys, decided wednesday to take my truck on a 160 mile trip. Well when i got here the truck started making this squeak when i moved the steering wheel. well i under there and the frame is cracked all along the lower bolts there is only one bolt holding the steering box on. im kind of worried if i will beable to make it home or not. what is every ones thoughts on this. having the truck towed 160 miles is out of the question.

There are reinforcement plates that you can buy for it. Not that it helps right now but maybe when you get back

Go buy some new bolts and drive it home, then repair it like above when you get home

Been there... done that.
You could have someone weld up the crack and you should be able to make it home where you can do a proper repair (reinforce plate and brace).
