What did you get done? Labor day 09/05/10 Edition

I worked again this weekend so my guys could be off. that didn't allow me a lot of shop time but I did see some progress on my E3 install. I finished all the sensor actuators up for now. They might needed adjsuting but I won't know till I get the system active.

I moved to the inside to start the wiring process. This is going to take a while, but I did get started on it.

Re: What did you get done? Labor day 09/05/10 Edition

Look what has made it to Oklahoma. Spent a few hours cleaning it and still have more to do. It was pretty dirty. Future plans include a Suburban top, Porterbilt suspension and 22 inch Vintec's (sp). Nope just kidding although that would be pretty cool. The interior really is in need of a lot of TLC and the rear is way to high compared to the front. I have a set of 20 inch TT's that I will put on it.

Replaced a fuel pump on my buddy's 87 K10. Not much fun in the 100+ degrees mojave desert! I was rewarded with some Colorado Kool-Aid, so it was all worth it.

Re: What did you get done? Labor day 09/05/10 Edition

update:
Got the side of the van painted and cleared - then it rained again.

Upside? Now i know how to get a kool "gator grain" look, as the clear wasn't quite dry.
Double curse of the the driveway bodyman!
Now i'm working on a 12pack of Shiner Bock beer in an attempt to drown out
my bad luck.
It's looking better and better.

Re: What did you get done? Labor day 09/05/10 Edition

Got the interior on the Jimmy gutted out, picked up a 2wd rolling chasis to swap the tub to, traded with Frank for a pair of lowback buckets for the truck and all the seatbelt pieces and mounting brackets I was missing.

Got the carpet installed in my 87ss, changed the oil on my daily, the wifes daily and the camaro (real exciting stuff).

I did break the harmonic balancer on my camper special so next weekend I will have more to report back.

Got rid of the 'Burb clip and got the stock stuff back on the front of my 86. Powder coated core support, etc... Glad to have it back to stock. Just need to get my new lights and it'll be all good!

Re: What did you get done? Labor day 09/05/10 Edition

Finally got my rear bumper moved in to lessen the gap . Also got a 73-80 bumper which Ilike A LOT better than the 81-87 castings. Also It almost broke me buying drill bits at Lowes . bought 3- 1/2 in bits (around 50.00) to drill 4 holes in the frame . & the 3rd one diddnt make it thru the final hole & I hadt to improvise to make it work for Iwas not about to buy another bit.

Re: What did you get done? Labor day 09/05/10 Edition

I finally got time to work on the truck and figure out what was wrong with it. I checked all over for vacuums leaks and could not find one. So my next step was to pull the carb and check the fuel bowls. There was alot of what looked like very, very fine grit red sand(rust?) So I pulled the carb completely apart and cleaned it and pretty much rebuilt the carb and now it is running fine. I now have 2 filters on it, one before the pump and one after the regulator. I drove it around alot today and bever had a problem.

Re: What did you get done? Labor day 09/05/10 Edition

Loaded up my military cab, dragged it 150 miles, and swapped it and some cash for a 77 1/2 ton. 3 OTT, 250 integral head, manual brakes and steering (gotta go!), aftermarket AC, solid stright body, no other options. That pretty well took out Saturday and Sunday, spend yesterday with relatives, and getting the second side of the barn ready for pavers. Got about 10 more feet and then the kids can go to it. $.50 a foot for 2' wide but I don't have to do the bending over. Then once the pavers are out of the barn I can level the floor and put in my vapor barrier and 21AA then my pallet rack.... Then I can get serious about parting oput the truck supply.
