OT: hooking up 3rd brake light - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I hooked up a 3rd brake light in my Camaro, but when I hit the turn signals and DON'T have my foot on the brakes, it blinks. When I DO have my foot on the brake, it's solid red and works fine.
The unit is a small black box with 2 green wires, 1 blue wire and 1 black wire which isn't hooked up. Seems like the black wire wasn't supposed to be hooked up for some reason(time delay or something). I had another one hooked up, but found this one, which looked better and thought I duplicated the wiring hookups. I guess not! I no longer have the destructions for it and I'm not very electrically literate. How do I hook this up correctly?

When I hooked mine up in the truck it did the same thing. I had to run a seperate wire from the brake switch back to it. The brake lights and turn signals share the same wires, so if you use the common wire it will blink. Just run a wire back to it and it should work fine.

Thanks for the reply, but which wire? Also, I just have the box hooked to the wires in the trunk, via those crimper connector thingys--cleaner this way and can hide it in the loom.
I obviously hooked it up wrong. I should be able to just switch a couple wires and be good to go. Problem is, I was never a very good electrician! However, I do know how to follow instructions. If I could get a simple diagram, I know I could hook it up.

I would run a wire from the cold wire on your brake switch. There might be an easier way, but that would work.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
