Another question about 73-87 crossmember
I have a 67 c10 and plan on using a 76 front crossmember that I already have. My question is will lowering springs for 67-72 trucks work with it or do i need springs specifically for the 76? I ask because you can buy kits with front and rear springs shocks etc.

Guessing for the disc brake set up? I know I am using a 83 front end for the disc brakes on my 67 so having to swap complete cross member over.

Just to make sure you guys are aware, there is no need to swap the x-member unless you want to. All the disc swap parts will work on the existing x-member.

So if I just swap all the parts to my 67 crossmember I would use drop spindles I assume for the 73-87 and could use the springs for the 67-72 trucks? Im wanting to do a 3 and 5 inch drop.

I believe all you have to do is drill out the lower control arm mounting holes, the u-bolts that hold the cross shafts are bigger on the newer control arms.....I think ??? That being said I still put the entire crossmember under mine..... just because....!!!!

Drilling the holes out is only required if desired. A guy can swap the disc brake parts to his original a-arms w/no issues. Coreyslude, if there's confusion about what is needed, check out the suspension section. There's multiple threads w/all the info needed for a swap to discs.
