Drop Measurements??

Ok, this is the deal.. back in the day, my dad lowered the truck when he had it. What he did was cut one coil off of the front, and took out the overloads from back.... and there it sits...

I want it dropped the right way with spindles/coils/flip kit... was thinking air bags... but I hear there's problems with the air kits....

Question 1: Can anyone give me an idea about how much of a drop was given after my dad dropped it from the stock height... (i'll post a pix) I'm thinking it's about a 2, maybe 3" drop, or so on front and back... is there a way I could find out for sure, rather than guess?

Question 2: Opinions on Air-Bag suspensions, vs. drop kits.

Thanks in Advance Fellas!!!!
