'69 C20 Front Drum to Disc help
From what I've been reading, your 1/2 guys have it pretty easy when it comes to swapping from drums to discs up front.
Are there any easy options for a drum to disc swap on a 1969 3/4 "Custom/Camper"?

Re: '69 C20 Front Drum to Disc help
Easiest would be to get stuff off of a '71-'72 C-20. Spindles, rotors, calipers, drag link, inner and outer tierods, ball joints as well as master cylinder and prop valve. Still trying to figure out brake hoses/lines on this swap. I think I remember hearing '73 C-20 brake hoses might work with the '69 hardlines. There are some members that have done this swap, maybe they'll chime in.

Awesome. Didnt expect it to be that simple. I've looked into it before, and was discouraged.
Seems like everything is a bolt on? You can always get the brake lines made.

Everything's bolt in from what I've been told. I have most of the parts to do it, but I just recently rebuilt everything on my drum brakes, so this project is going to have to wait.

You can also use the 73-87 disc setups like lots of the 1/2 ton guys do just get it from a 3/4 ton if you look around there is lots of info on it all pretty simple unbolting and bolting

Re: '69 C20 Front Drum to Disc help
Not sure exactly what my components were from, but I bought a 70 3/4 ton that already had a disc swap done and swapped it onto my 70 GMC. I bought new steel lines and ran them from the master cylinder. I used the drum booster with a new disc master. I cut the tabs that hold the rubber lines where the steel ones attach and re-welded them to the crossmember. Best mod ever!

Use 73-87 3/4 ton stuff. It will swap over to your existing a-arms using the 73-87 BJ's.

So, from the Donor truck, I would need: Calipers, discs and spindles?

Get everything between the spindle steering arms as well. Use the 73-up tie-rods & draglink for simplicity.

Re: '69 C20 Front Drum to Disc help
Here is the thread I was looking for.
Question: is it better to just swap crossmember and all?
