How much did you have to shorten your drive shaft when you installed a 700 transmission?

I cant tell you an exact measurement , but I can tell you this. I think you would be better off just measuring what you need. Too many things enter into the equation, where does that engine set in realation to original , what rear diff are you using etc.... I just put a 350 and 700r4 in an elcamino recently and it originally had a t-350 in it. I just got a driveshaft that was long enough to cut down, installed it and figured out where the absolute end of it needed to be, measured the difference andhad them cut that much out, cost me about 70.00 at the local driveline shop.
