73 Chevy C20 Build
I figured its about time I start workin on my 73 c20 so im starting a build thread for it! It started out as my stepdads grandfathers truck. I got it in 2005. It has a 350/350 combo. All factory. Now has 102k original miles. Body is pretty rusty so i have been trying to get replacement panels for it. Build will be slow but should be an awesome truck when its finished!
Plans: Beefing up the 350 and replacing all gaskets and seals. 700r4 conversion, ditch the 4:10 gears and swap to some 3:73 gears Having joe231 cut the frame and do a lwb to swb conversion redo the whole interior, and have the truck repainted either blue or bright red, maybe keep it orange, idk?? I'll try to get pics up since i love pics.. first set is from 2007 during a winter storm we had. Sadly thats only pics i have of it before i started tearing it apart..

Re: 73 Chevy C20 Build
pulled the carpet and cleaned the inside up a bit.. was very suprised how clean the floor pans were.. no rust like the bed and fenders lol.. the inside is very good shape for its age, only two small cracks in the dash

Re: 73 Chevy C20 Build
the 73 c20 parked next to a 82 c10 short stepside that i bought on craigslist for $200, had a inline 6 and 3 speed on the floor. Got it as a project but figured out i didnt have time or money for two projects so i sold it about 3 days later...

Re: 73 Chevy C20 Build
c20 got some new shoes! scored a set of 20" wheels on (you guessed it) craigslist for $150 bucks, without tires.. had some tires slapped on it from a local used tire shop and slapped em on over at joes house while he welded up my exhaust
Might switch to some smaller tires or some 18" wheels later on..

Re: 73 Chevy C20 Build
The plans are now to ditch the 3/4 ton chassis and swap everything over to a 1/2 ton swb chassis with my cab, get a new bed, and front clip and then have it all painted.. going to replace everything on the inside of the cab and freshen up the motor while its all apart..

Re: 73 Chevy C20 Build
Slow updates sorry! I got started on painting the cab, used the dupli color paint shops paint (cheap and easy to use) i know its not the best on the market but it will do for me. It actually turned out very nice and has excellent shine. Here are a few pics
BTW i chose sublime green pearl, just cause its different =)
