Re: taco's any one ?

That is getting to be a pretty big thing, especially in bigger cities. There are quite a few here in Columbus, not all tacos though.

Re: taco's any one ?

Heck ya!!.. those can make you some serious money!!!! especially on job-sites

In the Bay Area (San Francisco area), I did construction for a time,... and tons of those "Roach Coaches",.. would come around... some would even fight for territory (job site rights)... true story!!!

Interesting thing though.. majority of them were ran by Asian folks.. selling Carne Asada Burrito's, and Torta's.. along side.. Steamed Rice Bowls and Egg-Rolls.. go figure that one?????

Pretty tasty stuff too!!! hehe

Re: taco's any one ?

Depending on what the license would be to operate, it'd be nice to have at car shows, football games, anything like that. I've seen this truck locally, and he's made a fortune off of it.

Hell you don't even need the truck, I saw a guy walking around Anthony New Mexico with a cooler full of burrito's. In just a couple moments he made about 15 bucks off of 4 of us.

Re: taco's any one ?

Around here it would need to be corndogs, hotdogs and beer. They'd make a killing. We might have a few areas in town that the taco truck would do well, but they are already there! Need something in my neck of the woods that caters to those with boots and straw hats.

A mobile liquor licence, like an ice cream truck that sells tall boys. Give it time and wal-mart will have a fleet.

Re: taco's any one ?

Don't need a liquor license here to sell beer. Our beer is like stagnated water, 3.2% stuff. Is why our young folk can serve it and most restaurants have beer but no real booze.

Still, we need something to wash down with those tall boys.

Re: taco's any one ?

I thought that was only Utah. Thats insane, New Mexico makes it hard on everyone, they quit selling at midnight and on Sundays you cant buy until noon. Roswell Nm wont sell alcohol at all on sunday! Just to get a liquor licence a store has to post it publicly for so much time and pay some ridiculous amount of money for it. If you live near the store you can protest their licence.

Your telling me where you guys live you can sell Beers out of an ice cream truck?

Re: taco's any one ?

I'm sure you have to have some form of license, but it is not a liquor license. Probably falls under the normal food and beverage (health permit) stuff.

Heck, not far from us we have several dry counties still, no booze at all.

Re: taco's any one ?

Yeah, it would fall under health and food licensing, but here, to sell at big events, you have to have a special permit.

Re: taco's any one ?

There are a couple of those rigs around here, one is the Pancho Villa Grill. They make the rounds of all the construction sites twice a day, I think they make a killing.
Can't sell beer here without a license, plus I don't know that any of the housing contractors would want their workers drinking on the job...

Re: taco's any one ?

I don't know about entire counties, but there are still several "dry" cities in Ohio.
You have to have a liquor license to sell beer here too. There are differnt levels of licenses though.
Then, of course, you have the stupid "inside license" and "outside license" thing.....

Say a big bar has a "bike night" type of outdoor party. They can get an "outdoor" license, to sell draft beer from one of those portable trailers....but, the area has to be roped-off and clearly marked. You cannot take your "outdoor" beer inside, and you cannot take your "inside" beer outside. No hard liquor outside at all.

Around here, this cat has made it big.

Make an authentic taco, with home made salsa and people will buy them.
Just park outside of an event, and watch the line form fast.

Re: taco's any one ?

Around here, throw anything on a tortilla and folks will line up for 'em .
For a time, tortillas were thrown around in the stands at TTU football games, until some frat guys figured out that they flew a lot better if you let 'em dry out for a couple of days. What they ended up with was a flour frisbee. It was all fun and games until a few folks got hit with 'em. We even got a penalty or two for having fans throw 'em onto the field during games!

Re: taco's any one ?

Tx has a few dry counties. The liquor store is at the county line and there's usually a "Private Club" where you can get alcohol. It costs a buck to join most of them.

There are "Taco Trucks" on nearly every corner in Houston. They outnumber Starbucks anyway.Have been for years. It's either a truck or a ratty travel trailer converted. The rattier usually serves better tasting tacos.
