My smallblock has a rebuilt Quadrajet that takes
alot of cranking and pumping to get it started
after it sits overnight.

I have an HP Book on Quadrajets that leads me to
believe the plugs in my float bowl are leaking. They
mention using epoxy to seal up the plugs. If anyone
has done this what type of epoxy should I use?

Do you think these plugs are my problem? Or could
it be something else?

Most likely that is your problem. Any two part epoxy should work fine. Truck will have to be down a day or two. Other option, buy a JET stage II Q-jet with electric choke. They run great look nice and solve lots of drivability issues that 30+ year old carbs exhibit. That's why I did on both of my trucks, and consider it $350 WELL spent.

I have used the 5 minute JB Weld. I have little patience. It worked good. Your accelerator pump might also be the culprit. Have you looked down the carb and actuated the throttle to see if it is spraying gas when you do?

One of Quad's biggest problems.... Fuel well soft plugs. They do leak.. it can completly empty the float bowl causing long crank times and hard starts.

Mike C nailed it, us a 2 part epoxy and completly coat the plugs and lower fuel well area close to the plugs. This repair will last you a good long while.
