wiper blade problem
A few weeks ago i got some brothers truck wiper arms and blades. When it rained the other day the right wiper hardly wiped anything. Today I finally got around to looking at it and noticed that the center of the blade sticks up and that only the edges are touching the windshield. I was wondering if anyone else ever had a problem like this and what i should do?

Re: wiper blade problem
Does the blade flatten out if you press on it with your finger? If yes, the spring in the arm may be weak.

Re: wiper blade problem
Well it certainly couldn't hurt to ask them about it. Another possibility is an incorrect blade. If the blade is very sharply curved, it may be the wrong one for a 67-72 windshield, although I have never run into that particular problem.

Re: wiper blade problem
If Brothers shipped you a universal arm instead of a direct replacement, see if it has a spring tension adjustment on it.

Re: wiper blade problem
Make sure the wiper arm is tight to the shaft, if the nut is loose the arm won't push hard on the window.
Then check the spring that Ray mentions. If neither of those work simply bend the arm so it pushes harder on the glass. I have had to use this third step a few times, it always works for me.

Re: wiper blade problem
Somewhere, I have a Trico tool that tested the pressure of a wiper blade/arm as it lay on the windshield. Not that it would necessarily help you, but it was just something that I found to be interesting and collectible.
