I was thinking that running the porter built front c4 member would be nice to run along with a C4 IRS... all I can seem to find is info on doing this with a complete aftermarket frame, has anyone done this on a stock frame and or does anyone have any info on doing this on a stock frame?

Would you still be able to lay frame with shockwaves?

Anyway let me know what you guys know...

Are you doing it for performance or is it going to lay frame? I put one in my 66, but no one made any crossmembers or brackets, so I just built it all myself. I am building a pro-touring/autocross truck, so it will be running adj coilovers - so no air bags for me.

So you feel that coil overs are a better choice over a Shockwave set up? I have been considering an IRS on my next project that might lean in the same direction as what you are building.

I dont think that one is really any better than the other, especially if both are compression and rebound adjustable. I just don't plan on raising and lowering mine on a regular basis as you would use a shockwave for. As you change spring rate with air bags you also change ride height, where as coil-overs can change spring rate(change of springs) without affecting ride height. I'm no expert, so take everything i type with a grain of salt.
