Crossmember questions.......

I am piecing another vehicle from left over parts. It will be a 3/4 LWB leaf spring frame going under a burb body i have. The front and rear suspensions are no brainers. I have a TBI 5.7 with a granny 4 speed trans that i want to use. The frame was an auto 1/2 frame so no manual frame brackets for the bell housing.
I don't want to use them anyway, the bell housing I have is a hydrolic throw out bearing, much better.

The question is...Bill has some 4x4 crossmembers for sale. Can I use a 4x4 crossmember for the trans mount? use it like a later model truck style. I don't have any intact manual 4X4 trucks to check out. They use a manual trans but not the bell housing style mounts if i remember correctly.

I was thinking of using the 86 3/4 trans crossmember but it would take a bit of cutting here and there and it would be easier to use the 4X4 style.

Or would a regular auto crossmember 67-72 work? it doesn't look like it would be strong enough with out some additional bracing.

Any idea's thoughts etc would be greatly appreciated , trying to use up all the extra stuff lying around.

Thanks,
Steve
