Anyone know if i can buy new rotors ( '71 - '72 ) with 5 on 4 3/4" bolt centers. I'd prefer not to re-drill if at all possible. I'm quite sure i've seen them available somewhere, just can't remember where !

You should be able to get them at your locale parts store.

Okay, i've been checking on this since i first posted it a couple days back. I did find the rotors that i had seen before, but the way the salesman described it to me, i wasn't impressed at all, to say the least. This was on a conversion kit ( drum to disc ) from Brothers and from what the guy said, they use car rotors (probably 10 ") for the conversion which is why they showed 4 3/4" bolt centers. I talked to a few others after that and have come to the conclusion that my only option is to re-drill my rotors for the 4 3/4" bolt pattern

I'm thinking I got 11" rotors 1 1/4 inches thick with the 4 3/4 bolt pattern at the local Car Quest outlet. Its been awhile , but I think that's correct. They were made in China which I didn't care for. I'm not concerned about quality, I just don't like supporting communists.

I have an avenue you could check out.....
I remember looking at a late-70's station wagon for its HD 12" brakes (5 on 5"), and thinking "hey, thats the same casting number as a 1/2 ton 2wd" AND I know that the wagon rotors are swappable onto 3rd gen Camaros (except for the bolt pattern) BUT are otherwise the same as 1LE heavyduty brakes on '87?-'91 Camaros (which ARE 5 on4 3/4") SO maybe they'll work on a pickup spindle. AFTER you saw off the existing caliper mount and see if the 1LE caliper bracket can be adapted. Don't forget you will need a QuickTakeUp master cylinder (QTU) to match the modern seals in the metric calipers.
Could be an expensive experiment. But it might fit!
