1969 chevy c10 rear end questions
Hey, first post on this site trying to get to know and understand more about my 69 chevy c10 i bought a year ago. I've done alot of work on this thing and now that it's a realiable pickup for travel i'm just looking for some better gas mileage. I've checked into getting brand new gears in my rear end but it was right around 800-1000 to get all that done. i'm looking for a cheaper method hoping to find a used rear end with a 3:08 ratio...right now it's gotta be at least a 3:73 ratio maybe even steeper so my rpms are screaming at 60!
My question is does anyone know what rear end will fit under my 1969 chevy c10 1/2 ton 2wd with coil springs without any modifications? If so, what vehicles will i find them under? Thanks! |

Quote:
Later model truck rears can also work but would require shaving the leaf spring brackets off & welding new truck arm perches on (same thing for a later model car housing). F-bodies are also close in width if you can do the spring perch cut & weld task.
