Wiring problem..

1955 2nd series. New Painless 18 circuit kit installed last year. Everythuing was working fine until last week...

Now, turn signals not working, yet both front turn indicators light up when I depress brake pedal.

Is this the relay gone bad, ground issue, phase of the moon? Help please

I would start with checking the grounds. Make sure everything is clean and that the engine, chassis, cab, and bed are bonded together.

I'm in Pfafftown and might be able to lend a hand.

Also look at the bulbs. Sometimes a filiment will break off at one end and flop onto the other. If your stepping on the brakes and the front parking lights coem on then your powering the parking/tail lights when you step on the brakes.
It could be a bulb or a shorted socket or 2 wires rubbed to gether or a bad ground at one of the lights. Parking lights don't go through the column so count that out

I can't add much of anything to what they already said between them. I would first check the ground connections on the lights and then start checking bulbs if that didn't take care of it. What it looks like is that the turn signals are grounding through the park light circuit. You might check the flasher too just to make sure that it is ok.

Thanks guys, I'll try to track this down this weekend. I hate tracking down electrical gremlins, if only a wire grounding out had some type of fluid leak associated with it, it would be so much easier. I knew I had an oil leak when I saw the 3 quarts on the floor, electrical problems can hide in plain sight.

At least truck runs well now, enjoying driving it, just need it a little more complete so the cops don't pay so much attention

If the voltage is high enough and you touch the short you may have a personal fliud leak.
